Valentino Girl by Belgian Artist Isabelle Scheltjens at Markowicz Fine Art

Growing up with a love of pop art, Isabelle Scheltjens infused her passion with natural talent and years of education at SISA, the Antwerp City Institute for Decorative Arts and Crafts. After years of intense experimentation, her method refined into an entirely unique practice and a mastery of color theory. Her technique of glass-fusing involves melting together pieces of glass of different colors, sizes, and textures at approximately 800°C (1472°F). The resulting image pays homage to pointillism: forming an abstract image up close, yet a dramatic and precise portrait from a distance. Scheltjens has exhibited in New York City, Paris, Hong Kong, Antwerp, Dubai, Amsterdam, and London, among many others.
